Solomon Ilemona Emmanuel, a resident of Kaduna who operated under the alias SANTI XII on Facebook to carry out internet scams, has been sentenced to prison and ordered to surrender over N6.2 million to the Federal Government after being found guilty of fraud.
Details from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) reveal that Ilemona functioned as a ‘picker’ within an online fraud network, receiving illicit funds via a Chinese vendor and distributing them to other syndicate members. His conviction was handed down by Justice M.J. Zubairu of the Kaduna State High Court on Monday, September 29, 2025.
The Kaduna Zonal Directorate of the EFCC prosecuted him on a single count of impersonation and internet fraud.
The formal charge stated: “That you, Solomon Ilemona Emmanuel (also known as SANTI XII), in June 2025, within Kaduna jurisdiction, deceitfully assumed the identity of SANTI XII on Facebook to defraud unsuspecting individuals, an act punishable under Section 142 of the Kaduna State Penal Code Law 2017.”
Upon being charged, Emmanuel admitted guilt, leading the prosecuting counsel, M.J. Argungu, to request the court to convict and sentence him accordingly.
Justice Zubairu subsequently sentenced him to three years’ imprisonment or an alternative fine of N200,000. Additionally, he was ordered to forfeit a Tecno Camon Pro smartphone and had previously reimbursed his victims with N6,057,488.13.
Emmanuel was apprehended in the Kafanchan area of Kaduna State by EFCC operatives following intelligence reports that uncovered their fraudulent online operations. Investigations confirmed his role as a picker, channeling illegal funds through a Chinese vendor to other members of the fraud ring.
