Gary Neville has revealed that he is concerned about Manchester United’s lack of progress under manager Rúben Amorim.
Manchester United suffered a 3-1 defeat at Brentford on Saturday in the Premier League, adding more pressure on the manager.
The loss means United have won just two of their opening seven matches this season, with Amorim still searching for consecutive Premier League victories since taking charge last November.
The Red Devils, who finished a disappointing 15th last season, have earned only 34 points from 33 games under the Portuguese manager and currently sit 14th in the table.
Neville slams Amorim
Neville, a club legend, admitted he is worried about the team’s persistent struggles this new season.

“I am very worried, there’s no point in pretending otherwise,” Neville told NBC Sports. “The performances, the results and the substitutions yesterday were just not good enough.”
“We admire managers who are persistent with their system, but when you’ve got Mason Mount playing at left-back, you’re going to look pretty stupid,” he said. “And it’s happened twice now; it cannot happen again.”
The former defender also condemned Amorim’s constant changes to the backline, stating: “He’s chopping and changing the back three and back five every game, and the results are unacceptable.”

“I’m really, really worried,” Neville added. “I would never publicly call for a manager to be sacked, but I have a feeling the hierarchy will want to see a clear turnaround soon.”
The defeat at Brentford extended the Red Devils’ winless streak in Premier League away games to eight (two draws, six losses), their longest such run since 2019.
