Manchester City secured a draw against Monaco, with their prolific striker Erling Haaland extending his remarkable goal-scoring streak.
Erling Haaland showcased his exceptional form by netting twice as Manchester City battled to a 2-2 stalemate away in France against a determined Monaco squad.
The Norwegian forward opened the scoring early, expertly finishing Josko Gvardiol‘s cross in the 15th minute to give City the lead.
Monaco responded swiftly, with Jordan Teze leveling the score just three minutes later. However, Haaland regained the advantage for City just before halftime, delivering a precise header in the 44th minute.
Despite Haaland’s heroics, a late penalty converted by Eric Dier denied City the victory, resulting in a shared point as the match concluded.
Haaland’s Unrelenting Champions League Impact
Haaland’s current goal-scoring spree is a testament to his extraordinary record in the UEFA Champions League.
Making his Champions League debut in September 2019 with Red Bull Salzburg, Haaland announced himself by scoring a hat-trick in his first match and adding five more goals during the group phase.
His scoring prowess continued at Borussia Dortmund, where he netted 15 goals across 13 appearances. Since joining Manchester City under Pep Guardiola, Haaland has amassed 29 goals in 31 Champions League outings.
With his brace on Wednesday, Haaland’s tally for the current campaign has reached 11 goals in just eight matches. He will look to extend this impressive form as City prepare to face Brentford in their upcoming Premier League fixture.
