Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce has recently been misrepresented in false reports amid a rising wave of celebrity misinformation, falsely linking her to a high-value Netflix contract.
Contrary to circulating rumors, the celebrated Jamaican sprinter Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce’s alleged $13.5 million Netflix agreement is entirely fabricated, originating from AI-generated content rather than verified sources.
Several outlets claimed that Fraser-Pryce had secured a lucrative deal to produce a seven-part documentary series chronicling her remarkable sprinting career.

However, the Jamaica Gleaner has clarified that no such contract exists, with fact-checkers thoroughly debunking these fabricated stories.
This misinformation is part of a broader pattern of deceptive news targeting public figures. Similar false claims have implicated personalities such as Ja Morant, Stephen Colbert, and Elon Musk in supposed Netflix deals, all of which have been proven baseless.
Known affectionately as the ‘Pocket Rocket’, Fraser-Pryce concluded her illustrious career this year after competing at the World Championships in Tokyo. There, she reached the women’s 100m final and anchored the Jamaican 4x100m relay team, which earned a silver medal behind the United States.

Her career, spanning nearly two decades, began at the 2007 World Championships in Osaka, where she contributed to Jamaica’s silver medal in the 4x100m relay.
Fraser-Pryce made her individual championship debut at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, becoming the first woman from Jamaica and the Caribbean to claim Olympic gold in the 100m event.
Over the years, the 38-year-old has amassed an impressive record: five world titles in the 100m, twelve world championship medals overall, seven Olympic medals, five Diamond League victories, and a personal best of 10.60 seconds in the 100m, ranking as the third fastest time ever recorded. Her achievements have earned her numerous individual honors.
Fraser-Pryce’s remarkable consistency and dominance on the track have been instrumental in ushering in a golden era for Jamaican women’s sprinting.
