…Claims PDP and ADC Are on the Brink of Collapse

Pastor Olumide Obadele, the Director General of the Progressive Network for Tinubu (PNT) in Ondo State, has firmly rejected rumors suggesting that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is anxious about a potential presidential bid by former President Goodluck Jonathan in 2027.
Addressing supporters in Akure during the inauguration of local government coordinators for the group, Obadele expressed unwavering confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s prospects, affirming that the APC is poised for a decisive victory in the upcoming elections.
“There’s no cause for the APC to be unsettled by Jonathan’s name. From my perspective, Jonathan will ultimately not enter the race. Nigeria’s Constitution is explicit, and there’s no need to misinterpret it,” Obadele asserted.
He further warned that any effort to propel Jonathan into the contest would be a futile embarrassment, predicting that such a move would be dismissed outright.
“Should he decide to run, which platform would he use? PDP or ADC? Both parties are effectively on life support, struggling to stay relevant. No political party in Nigeria today can rival Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. In my view, the 2027 election is already settled,” he added.
Reflecting on the political landscape compared to the 2023 elections, Obadele highlighted a significant shift. “The 2023 scenario was unique because our Igbo brothers rallied strongly behind Obi. Now, neither Obi nor Atiku has a clear party affiliation. With only eight months left, it’s unlikely they can mount a serious challenge. Essentially, they have handed the contest to the APC,” he explained.
On the group’s efforts to galvanize voter participation, Obadele stressed the importance of combating voter apathy in Ondo State.
“A turnout of just 28.62% in the last election is unacceptable. Our focus is on mobilizing the remaining 70%, particularly the influential elites who often abstain from voting. We are actively engaging individuals, organizations, and communities to raise awareness about Asiwaju’s achievements for Nigeria,” he stated.
Obadele also disclosed ongoing negotiations with political parties contemplating defection to the APC. “One major party has finalized plans to join us soon, and discussions with another are underway. These alliances will fortify Tinubu’s re-election campaign in 2027,” he revealed.
Meanwhile, PNT State Coordinator Otunba Kelly Agboola praised the Minister of Interior, Hon. Bunmi Tunji-Ojo, for his unwavering dedication to President Tinubu’s re-election efforts.
Agboola described Tunji-Ojo as “a remarkable and divinely gifted son of Ondo State,” whose leadership has significantly bolstered pro-Tinubu organizations, including the APC Elders’ Movement for Tinubu 2027, which continues to grow in both membership and influence throughout the state.
