As Mahmoud Yakubu, the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), embarks on his terminal leave, May Agbamuche-Mbu, a National Commissioner within the commission, has been appointed as the Acting Chairman.

Following the directive from President Bola Tinubu for Yakubu to begin his terminal leave, the chairman formally handed over his duties to Agbamuche-Mbu.
