Recent findings reveal that President Donald Trump has selected a significant number of individuals with deep ties to the fossil fuel sector, including more than 40 who have prior experience working for companies in oil, natural gas, or coal industries.
This investigation, carried out by Public Citizen-a nonprofit dedicated to advocating for consumer protections and ethical governance-and the Revolving Door Project, an organization that tracks corporate influence in government, reviewed the backgrounds of officials appointed or nominated within the White House and eight key agencies overseeing energy, environmental, and climate policy. These agencies include the Environmental Protection Agency, as well as the Departments of Energy and the Interior, among others.
