An extensive industrial complex located on the outskirts of Jakarta, Indonesia, is currently facing a serious radioactive contamination issue. A government-led taskforce has identified the presence of the dangerous isotope Caesium-137 across 22 manufacturing sites within the area, including companies involved in the export of frozen seafood products.

This alarming finding has triggered urgent cleanup operations and the evacuation of nearby communities. The contamination was initially uncovered following a radiation alert in the United States linked back to seafood shipments originating from these Jakarta-based facilities.
