In a commanding Game 4 performance, the Las Vegas Aces triumphed over the Phoenix Mercury 97-86, securing a clean sweep in the 2025 WNBA Finals.
On Friday, the Las Vegas Aces clinched their third championship in four seasons by overcoming the Phoenix Mercury with an 11-point margin.
Hosted at Phoenix’s Mortgage Matchup Center, the Aces sealed the series with a decisive 97-86 victory, completing a flawless 4-0 sweep.
Leading the charge, Center A’ja Wilson delivered an impressive 31 points, while teammates Chelsea Gray and Jackie Young each contributed 18 points, propelling the Aces to their fourth consecutive Finals series win and another championship trophy.
Wilson, who earned the league’s regular season MVP honors, was also named Finals MVP for the second time in her career.
During the third quarter, the Aces extended their lead to 20 points at 58-38, maintaining control despite a late surge from the Mercury in the final period.
The Road to the Championship
Although Phoenix narrowed the gap to six points early in the fourth quarter, costly mistakes, including guard Kahleah Copper fouling out with 1:30 left-despite her 30-point effort-hampered their comeback hopes.
Las Vegas had previously captured back-to-back titles in 2022 and 2023 before falling to the New York Liberty in last year’s playoff quarterfinals.
In response to missing the Finals, the Aces revamped their front office during the offseason, parting ways with former general manager Natalie Williams to strengthen their organizational structure.

Alongside management changes, the Aces orchestrated a three-team trade before the season, sending guard Jewell Loyd away and acquiring four-time All-Star and two-time champion Kelsey Plum.
Despite a 16-game winning streak to close the regular season, Las Vegas entered the playoffs with a 30-14 record, ranking second in the WNBA standings.
The Aces faced tough battles in their initial playoff rounds, edging out the Indiana Fever in a five-game series without star Caitlin Clark and sweeping the Seattle Storm in three games.
