NSCDC Cracks Down: Suspected Indian Hemp Dealer and Two Others Transferred to NDLEA in Kano

NSCDC Hands Over Suspected Indian Hemp Dealer, Two Others To NDLEA in Kano

The Kano State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has recently transferred three individuals suspected of drug trafficking, including a prominent cannabis dealer, to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for further scrutiny and prosecution.
The detainees-Yusuf Alasan (25), Muktar Musa, and Musa Sani-were apprehended by NSCDC officers in Doguwa Local Government Area on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, while they were transporting three sizable sacks filled with marijuana.

During the handover event at the command’s headquarters on Friday, NSCDC State Commandant Bala Bodinga revealed that the arrests resulted from actionable intelligence that enabled officers to stop the suspects at the Riruwai Gate in Doguwa.

“We have gathered you here today to update you on a significant achievement by the Corps in its ongoing mission to eliminate criminal elements from Kano,” Bodinga addressed the press.

He further detailed that Alasan, known locally as a major drug dealer, was intercepted while riding a motorcycle carrying the cannabis, accompanied by his two partners. “Their route was from Doguwa town to Kafau within Doguwa LGA when our operatives successfully intercepted them,” he added.

The commandant confirmed that initial investigations have been concluded and that the suspects, along with the confiscated substances, are now in the custody of the NDLEA Kano Command for comprehensive investigation and prosecution.

Bodinga emphasized the NSCDC’s dedication to partnering with other security agencies to combat crime throughout the state. “Our collaboration with sister agencies remains steadfast as we strive to dismantle criminal networks and safeguard the people of Kano State,” he stated.

This recent success follows a similar operation two months prior, on August 6, 2025, when the Corps arrested two individuals involved in drug dealing and burglary during separate raids across Kano.

The commandant highlighted that these arrests demonstrate the command’s unwavering resolve to suppress illegal drug activities, which he identified as a significant catalyst for crime within the state.
