Alan Shearer, the iconic former striker for Newcastle and England, has identified the team burdened with the greatest expectation to clinch the Premier League crown this season.
Premier League icon Alan Shearer emphasizes that Arsenal must regard winning the league as an absolute necessity rather than a distant goal.
After finishing second for three straight seasons, the pressure on the Gunners to finally lift the Premier League trophy is intensifying.
This summer, Mikel Arteta has bolstered Arsenal’s squad by acquiring standout players such as Eberechi Eze, Noni Madueke, Piero Hincapie, Martin Zubimendi, Viktor Gyokeres, and Cristhian Mosquera, raising the club’s aspirations to unprecedented levels.
Shearer highlights Arsenal’s duty to claim the Premier League crown
Shearer is convinced that Arteta is fully aware of the immense responsibility he carries to finally deliver the league title to Arsenal after years of narrowly missing out.
“This season must be the one where Arsenal finally captures the Premier League trophy,” Shearer asserted.
“Having invested heavily and finishing as runners-up for three consecutive years, the expectations are enormous. Everyone, including Arteta, knows that anything less than winning the title is unacceptable.”
“When a club commits such substantial resources, settling for second place is simply not an option.”
Currently leading the Premier League table by a single point over Liverpool, Arsenal will face Fulham at Craven Cottage following the international break.
