Governor Mai Mala Buni has approved the immediate release of ₦5.8 billion to settle all outstanding gratuity obligations owed to the state’s retired civil servants.
Mohammed Abatcha Geidam, the Commissioner for Finance, stated that this initiative underscores the government’s unwavering commitment to honoring the dedication and service of its former employees.
In addition, the governor has instructed that gratuity payments be integrated into the State’s monthly budgetary allocations moving forward.
“This policy guarantees that gratuity disbursements will be processed concurrently with pension payments each month, thereby eliminating any future backlog of unpaid retirement benefits,” the Commissioner clarified.
