Eagles Boss Reveals Star Player’s Imminent Exit Amid Intense Liverpool, Real Madrid, and Barca Pursuit

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has confirmed that club captain Marc Guéhi will exit the team once his contract expires next summer.

Despite efforts from the club to extend his stay, Glasner revealed that Guéhi is set to leave Crystal Palace on a free transfer at the conclusion of the current season.

Last year, the England defender attracted significant interest, including a rumored £35 million move to Liverpool. However, Palace opted to retain Guéhi’s leadership on the pitch rather than cashing in immediately.

Guéhi’s reluctance to extend his contract beyond 2026 had long hinted at a future departure on a free transfer. Glasner acknowledged the club must now strategize for life without their captain.

“Marc has been clear that he won’t be renewing his contract, so he will be leaving next summer,” Glasner explained.

“We made every effort to keep him by offering a new deal, but he has chosen to explore other opportunities, which is understandable.”

“Our priority now is to handle this transition carefully and maintain transparent communication as we plan ahead,” Glasner added.

While a mid-season transfer in January remains on the table, it is generally expected that Guéhi will finish the campaign at Selhurst Park before departing upon contract expiration.

He has been linked with several elite European clubs, including Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and a possible return to Liverpool.
