FAAC Allocation Plummets to N2.1 Trillion with 16% Revenue Decline: What This Means for FG, States, and LGs

FAAC allocation to FG, States, LGs drop to N2.1trn, as gross revenues dip by 16%

Out of the total revenue collected, N34.905 billion was spent on expenses related to revenue collection, while N25.132 billion was earmarked for transfers, designated projects, and reimbursements. The remaining sum of N812.593 billion was distributed among the three tiers of government: the federal government received N121.889 billion, the States were allocated N406.297 billion, and Local Government Councils received N284.408 billion.

During the period under review, the Gross Statutory Revenue amounted to N2.128 trillion, marking a decrease of N710.134 billion from the previous month’s figure of N2.838 trillion. From this total, N79.090 billion was allocated to cover collection costs, while N809.873 billion was directed towards transfers, specific programs, and refunds.

The balance of N1.239 trillion was apportioned among the government levels as follows: the federal government was granted N581.672 billion, the States received N295.032 billion, Local Government Councils were allocated N227.457 billion, and N134.956 billion was reserved as derivation revenue for the 13 percent mineral-producing states.

Furthermore, N53.838 billion collected through the Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL) was distributed among the three tiers of government. The federal government received N7.753 billion, the States were allocated N25.842 billion, Local Government Councils obtained N18.089 billion, and N2.154 billion was set aside to cover collection expenses.
