Fulham Boss Reveals Shocking Fitness Update on Super Eagles Star Ahead of Arsenal Clash!

During the recent international break, Nigeria’s Super Eagles were proudly represented on the world stage by Fulham‘s standout talents: Calvin Bassey, Samuel Chukwueze, and Alex Iwobi.

Fulham’s head coach, Marco Silva, has revealed uncertainty over Samuel Chukwueze’s participation in tonight’s crucial Premier League clash against Arsenal, as reported by Soccernet.ng.

Since joining Fulham on loan from AC Milan this summer, the 26-year-old winger has only managed 63 minutes on the pitch for the Cottagers.

Although Chukwueze missed the fixture against Lesotho, he played a significant role in Nigeria’s commanding 4-0 triumph over Benin, assisting twice for striker Victor Osimhen during his 45 minutes on the field.

Unfortunately, shortly after the second half began, Chukwueze appeared to sustain an injury, wincing as he held his heavily wrapped calf muscle.

Reacting promptly, Nigeria’s coach Eric Chelle replaced him with Olakunle Olasegun to avoid aggravating the injury.

Fulham Boss Addresses Chukwueze’s Doubtful Status Ahead of Arsenal Fixture

Despite Chukwueze joining fellow internationals Bassey and Iwobi in a recovery session on Thursday, Silva remains unsure if the winger will be fit enough to feature against Arsenal. Several other players returning from international duty also face fitness questions.

Alongside Chukwueze, Saša Lukić, Rodrigo Muniz, and Antonee Robinson are confirmed sidelined, while Raúl Jiménez and Kenny Tete remain doubtful ahead of Saturday’s home game at Craven Cottage.

“This is the reality we are dealing with, and unfortunately, it’s out of our hands,” Silva explained during his pre-match press conference when asked about the absence of key players.

“Our medical and rehab staff are working around the clock to restore these players to full health because their contributions are crucial.

“Having a complete squad definitely boosts our strength. When multiple key players are missing, it naturally impacts our overall performance. Still, we won’t use this as an excuse. We must confront the challenge head-on and keep striving.

“Take Robinson, for instance; his impact over recent seasons has been tremendous across all areas of the pitch,” Silva added, highlighting the significance of the absent players.

Fulham have been in solid form lately, winning three of their last five outings. Meanwhile, Arsenal have also impressed, securing four victories in five matches, with their sole blemish being a draw against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
