Abia Warriors‘ Coach Expresses Confidence Ahead of Showdown with Shooting Stars
Imama Amapakabo, the head coach of Abia Warriors, is feeling positive as his squad gears up to take on Shooting Stars in Ibadan this Sunday.
The team from Umuahia is set to visit Lekan Salami Stadium for their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) matchday nine encounter.
Riding high on the momentum from a convincing 2-0 home win over El-Kanemi Warriors last weekend, Abia Warriors aim to consolidate their standing in the league table.
Insights from Coach Amapakabo
In a recent interview with the club’s media team, Amapakabo highlighted the importance of continuous improvement, especially after their recent experience in continental competition.
“We have come to terms with our shortcomings on the continental stage, but that doesn’t define us as failures,” he remarked.
He further explained, “Only if by the end of the season in May we fail to reclaim our previous form will we consider ourselves unsuccessful.”
Reflecting on their maiden continental campaign, Amapakabo described it as an invaluable learning curve.
“There were several areas where we fell short, but it served as a significant educational experience. We’ve absorbed those lessons and are determined to return stronger, confident that this squad has the potential to improve significantly.”
