The administration has urged nine universities to commit to an agreement aimed at implementing conservative principles within higher education.
Recently, the University of Arizona became the seventh institution nationwide to decline a proposal from the Trump administration that would prioritize funding for colleges endorsing its conservative policy framework.
This development comes amid the administration’s campaign encouraging nine universities to endorse the “Compact for Academic Excellence in Higher Education.” This agreement calls for significant reforms affecting campus environments, recruitment and admissions procedures, and the enrollment of international students. Key elements of the administration’s 10-point plan include revising how race and ethnicity factor into hiring and admissions decisions, alongside enforcing traditional definitions of gender identity, among other stipulations.
