A prominent figure in Los Angeles known for broadcasting US immigration enforcement activities on social media remained under hospital care on Wednesday following a confrontation with federal agents that led to his shooting and detention.
Officials report that Carlitos Ricardo Parias, a TikTok influencer with a substantial online audience, attempted to escape by driving his vehicle toward federal agents’ cars after they had surrounded and trapped him. During the altercation, he sustained a gunshot wound to the elbow, and a stray bullet also injured a deputy US marshal’s hand.
