Haaland Joins Cristiano Ronaldo in Legendary Goal-Scoring Elite!

Haaland equals a Cristiano Ronaldo career goal-scoring record

Erling Haaland has reached a significant milestone previously achieved by Cristiano Ronaldo, following his goal for Manchester City during their Champions League encounter against Villarreal.

This season, Haaland has been a scoring machine, showcasing a level of efficiency that draws comparisons to the legendary Cristiano Ronaldo at his prime.

He has now matched Ronaldo’s record by scoring in 12 straight matches across both club and international competitions. His latest goal came in Manchester City’s Champions League triumph over Villarreal, where he calmly converted a precise low cross from Rico Lewis, opening the scoring and pushing his season total to 24 goals in 2025/26. Bernardo Silva later extended the lead before the break, securing the victory.

This goal also marked Haaland’s ninth consecutive match scoring for Manchester City, bringing him within one game of equaling his own record for consecutive club goals, a streak he set under Pep Guardiola from August to October 2022.

At just 25 years old, Haaland has established himself as a formidable striker. After scoring in City’s commanding 4-0 Premier League opener against Wolves and missing out in a defeat to Tottenham, he embarked on a sensational run, netting 22 goals in the subsequent 12 matches.

This prolific streak began with a goal against Brighton and included six goals for Norway during the September international fixtures for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. Haaland also broke Wayne Rooney’s record for the most goals scored in a Manchester derby by bagging a brace against Manchester United. He continued his scoring spree by finding the net against Arsenal, further solidifying his status as one of the world’s most lethal forwards.
