Omoyele Sowore Detained” border=”0″ />
Recent reports confirm that Nigerian activist Omoyele Sowore was apprehended by security agents within the premises of the Federal High Court in Abuja.
Renowned human rights advocate Inibehe Effiong publicly condemned the actions of the police and the administration of President Bola Tinubu on social media, denouncing their flagrant disregard for Nigeria’s judicial integrity.
Effiong stated: “The detention of Omoyele Sowore inside the Federal High Court in Abuja is utterly indefensible.
“This police action, seemingly endorsed by the Tinubu administration, strikes at the foundation of our justice system. His prompt and unconditional release is non-negotiable. Such infringements must be firmly rejected.”
Before his detention, Sowore shared on Facebook that he was present at the Federal High Court alongside Kanu Agabi, the principal lawyer representing Nnamdi Kanu.
Sowore revealed that Agabi had declared his legal team’s withdrawal from the case, leaving Kanu without counsel during the scheduled hearing.
