As we commemorate 25 years since the United Nations Security Council passed a pivotal resolution linking gender equality with global peace and security, the world faces an alarming rise in armed conflicts-the highest since 1946. This surge gravely endangers the lives and rights of women and girls across the globe. Yet, women’s involvement in peace processes remains strikingly low, with only 10% of peace talks in the past year featuring women as principal negotiators. Annette Young interviews Chris Coulter, Executive Director of The Berghof Foundation and a veteran mediator with over twenty years of experience, including advisory roles to the Swedish Foreign Ministry.
