We invite Lagos’s style lovers, vintage hunters, and environmentally aware shoppers to participate in this movement aimed at minimizing textile waste, prolonging the lifespan of premium garments, and making clothing swaps the latest trend in fashion.
Introducing SwapShop
SwapShop is a specially curated pop-up event held during LagosFW that fosters community engagement and promotes mindful shopping habits. Attendees can exchange unique wardrobe pieces, browse thoughtfully selected collections of pre-owned fashion, and connect with like-minded individuals who champion creativity and sustainability.
- Beyond a Simple Exchange: SwapShop aims to nurture a circular fashion ecosystem through innovation, collaboration, and eco-friendly style choices.
- On-Site Repairs: This edition introduces a Repair Station offering quick mending services such as sewing buttons, adjusting hems, and patching minor rips to further extend garment usability.
How to Get Involved
Participation in the LagosFW SwapShop is exclusive to ticket holders of Lagos Fashion Week. Availability is limited, and all items undergo a rigorous quality assessment.
Step-by-Step SwapShop Participation:
- Sign Up Online: Complete the registration form and provide details about your items.
- Item Review & Grading: Our team evaluates submissions based on condition and style, assigning grades from 1 to 3.
- Drop-Off: Deliver your approved, clean, and well-presented garments to the designated location.
- Earn Tokens: Receive one token per accepted item, which can be exchanged for pieces within the same quality category.
- Swap & Discover: Use your tokens to select new wardrobe treasures during the event.
Standards for Accepted Items
We prioritize high-end designer labels, timeless vintage apparel, and premium Nigerian brands that are clean and free from odors.
Items from fast fashion brands or those that are heavily stained, ripped, or excessively worn will not be accepted.
Any quality pieces that remain unclaimed after the swap will be donated to community projects supported by SwapShop, ensuring they continue to serve a purpose and reduce waste.
