Running a business comes with risks, and for many small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), understanding how to manage those risks can make the difference between growth and loss. Insurance plays a vital role in helping businesses stay protected, yet many entrepreneurs still overlook its importance.
To shed light on this, BusinessDay’s digital department hosted the October edition of its SME Clinic with the theme “The Benefits of Insurance for SMEs.”
The webinar, which took place on Thursday, October 30, 2025, was streamed live on BusinessDay’s YouTube channel @BDTV. The session helped business owners understand how insurance works, why it matters, and how it can serve as a safety net for their operations.

The discussion was moderated by Ethel Adonu.
Speaking on the importance of the session, Linda Ochugbua, digital sales manager at BusinessDay, noted that many SMEs underestimate the value of insurance in building stability. “This edition of SME Clinic showed entrepreneurs how insurance can serve as both protection and a growth strategy, especially in uncertain times,” she said.
Proudly sponsored by Fast Credit Finance Company Limited, the October edition continued the SME Clinic’s mission of providing a platform where business owners can gain practical knowledge, share experiences, and find solutions that help them build stronger, more resilient enterprises.
