Omisore picks APC nomination form for Osun 2026 governorship election

Iyiola Omisore, former Deputy Governor of Osun State and immediate past National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has officially picked his party’s governorship nomination and expression of interest forms ahead of the 2026 Osun State governorship election.

Omisore announced the development on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Thursday, where he confirmed that he was the first among the thirteen aspirants to obtain the forms on the first day of the exercise.

He noted that his action generated excitement among party members and supporters across Osun State, many of whom described it as a sign of his readiness and commitment to contest the election.

Speaking after collecting the forms, Omisore said his decision to run for governor was driven by responsibility rather than personal ambition.

“This is not about ambition; it is about responsibility; a responsibility to rebuild our state, restore trust in leadership, and chart a new direction for a prosperous Osun,” he said.

“Our people deserve a government that listens, plans, and delivers.”

The APC governorship primary election is scheduled to hold on December 13, 2025.
