Veteran entertainer and activist Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charley Boy or Area Fada, has publicly expressed frustration over unsolicited romantic advances from women, despite being married and having openly discussed health challenges affecting his segxwality.
In a post shared on his social media page alongside a photo collage of himself and his wife, the outspoken showbiz figure said he was baffled by persistent messages from women proposing marriage and relationships.
Charly Boy recalled that he had previously announced on television that he underwent prostate cancer surgery, which, according to him, affected his segxwal capacity. He stressed that he is happily married and loyal to his wife, adding that these facts have not stopped some women from contacting him privately.
The activist noted that he does not consider himself wealthy or physically attractive enough to attract such attention, yet the messages continue. He cited an instance where a woman reportedly sent him ₦10 million as a New Year gift, claiming it was a donation to support the Charly Boy Foundation for Men, with no conditions attached.
Reflecting on his past, the musician admitted he was once a “player” many decades ago but said he had changed nearly 40 years ago, a fact he said his wife is well aware of.
He also referenced a previous controversy involving a woman based in London who allegedly accused him of deceiving her after she claimed to have spent ₦45 million on him, an allegation he dismissed as false.
Charley Boy warned admirers to respect boundaries and allow him live in peace, reiterating that his health condition and marital status should be enough reason to desist from approaching him romantically.
The post has since sparked reactions online, with many social media users expressing surprise, amusement, and support for the outspoken entertainer.
