Renowned Nollywood actor and filmmaker, Muyiwa Ademola, has broken his silence on why he was noticeably absent at the burial of his cousin, late Yoruba actress Allwell Ademola, which took place in Lagos.
The burial rites for Allwell Ademola were held over two days, from Thursday, January 8, to Friday, January 9, culminating in her interment at a cemetery in the Yaba area of Lagos. The ceremony drew a large turnout of colleagues and notable personalities from the Yoruba film industry who gathered to honour her memory.
However, the absence of Muyiwa Ademola did not go unnoticed by fans and industry watchers, sparking widespread curiosity and concern.
Shortly after the burial, the actor addressed the issue in a heartfelt post shared on his social media platforms. He revealed that he was outside Nigeria at the time of the burial and was unable to return early enough to attend the final rites.
In the emotional tribute, Ademola expressed profound sorrow over his cousin’s passing, describing her death as a painful reminder of life’s uncertainty. He reflected on the fleeting nature of human existence and urged people to cherish every day they are given.
The actor also used the moment to send messages to departed family members, asking the late Allwell Ademola to convey his greetings to his father, Awofe Ademola, and Uncle Adetokunbo Ademola.
His message struck a deep chord with fans, many of whom sympathised with him over the loss and the pain of not being present to bid his cousin a final farewell.
