Ex-Besiktas midfielder Sinan Engin has voiced his opinion that Fenerbahce‘s forward Youssef En-Nesyri does not match the caliber of Victor Osimhen.
Since finalizing his permanent transfer to the “Yellow-Reds,” Osimhen has hit the ground running this season, netting two goals in his opening two league fixtures.
Although En-Nesyri has managed a decent tally of four goals across eight league games, his overall impact has fallen short of bridging the performance gap with their rivals.
Currently, Fenerbahce trails league leaders Galatasaray by six points, as the latter steadily advances toward securing another league title.
Comparing En-Nesyri and Osimhen
Osimhen has been a standout performer this season, playing a pivotal role for Galatasaray, which has sparked numerous comparisons with Fenerbahce’s En-Nesyri.

Nevertheless, Engin, who now works as a football analyst for Beyaz TV, shared his skepticism about En-Nesyri’s ability to lead Fenerbahce to a league title, as reported by Habersarikirmizi.
“Fenerbahce’s chances of clinching the championship with En-Nesyri are slim,” Engin remarked. “He doesn’t even come close to the level of Icardi or Osimhen.”

Engin’s critique gained momentum following Fenerbahce’s recent 0-0 stalemate against Samsunspor.
In that match, En-Nesyri struggled to convert chances, missing an opportunity to help his team close the gap on Galatasaray, who had unexpectedly dropped points to Besiktas.
This outcome has further fueled discussions about whether the Moroccan forward possesses the elite qualities necessary to guide Fenerbahce to a championship victory.
