Nottingham Forest Part Ways with Ange Postecoglou After Just 39 Days at the Helm
Nottingham Forest, featuring players Ola Aina and Taiwo Awoniyi, have relieved Ange Postecoglou of his managerial duties following a disappointing start that saw no wins during his brief spell at the Premier League club’s City Ground home.

The Australian coach, aged 60, was appointed on September 9, taking over from Nuno Espirito Santo with a contract set for two years.
Unfortunately, Postecoglou was unable to register a single victory across eight games. The decisive moment came after a heavy 3-0 loss at home to Chelsea, which ultimately led to his dismissal.
Fan frustration had been growing, with supporters chanting for his removal during a defeat against FC Midtjylland.
After a 2-0 loss at Newcastle, Postecoglou hinted at upcoming talks regarding his future with club owner Evangelos Marinakis.
Despite swirling rumors, the manager maintained a confident stance in his final press briefing before the Chelsea match, denying any discussions had taken place and asserting, “the story always ends the same… me with a trophy.”
Clinton Morrison’s Perspective
On Soccer Saturday, ex-professional Clinton Morrison weighed in on the situation, emphasizing that the team’s performance was far from acceptable.
“Failing to win in eight matches is simply not good enough,” Morrison remarked.
He added, “They have a significant European fixture midweek. While there were some boos after the Chelsea game, the crowd wasn’t chanting ‘you’re getting sacked in the morning’ like before.”
Morrison also highlighted a decline in key players’ form and defensive vulnerabilities as critical problems.
“The main issue is their inability to keep clean sheets as they did last season. Players like Chris Wood, Callum Hudson-Odoi, and Morgan Gibbs-White, who were impactful before, have been quiet this term. They’re missing crucial opportunities. It’s a tough spot for any manager,” he concluded.
