Opponents of the Democratic contender for New York City mayor have resorted to labeling him with inflammatory terms such as ‘jihadist candidate’ and ‘terrorism sympathizer.’
On Thursday morning, shortly after a heated final mayoral debate in New York that did little to boost his standing, Andrew Cuomo reignited a controversial and racially charged narrative against his progressive Democratic challenger, Zohran Mamdani.
Addressing conservative radio host Sid Rosenberg, the former governor warned, “Heaven forbid we face another 9/11-can you picture Mamdani holding that office?”-alluding to the devastating 2001 terrorist attacks carried out by Islamic extremists in New York City.
