‘He’s probably playing his best football’ – Ex-England manager shocked by Iwobi’s assist


Glenn Hoddle, the former manager of England, has praised Alex Iwobi’s exceptional assist for Fulham against Brentford.

At Craven Cottage on Saturday night, Iwobi was at his best as Marco Silva’s team overcame a deficit to defeat Brentford 3-1 in the Premier League.

Mikkel Damsgaard opened the scoring, but the Super Eagles star levelled the game before setting up Harry Wilson to send Fulham ahead.

Following his superb assist, Hoddle claimed that the midfielder is currently playing the finest football of his career.

Hoddle hails Iwobi’s assist

Iwobi’s performance against Brentford has received great praise and his brilliant assist overshadowed the pivotal goal that ignited Fulham’s comeback.

Speaking on Premier League Productions, Hoddle was quick to praise Iwobi. He said, “This is a beautiful pass, it really is. 

“The defenders go with Muniz, he’s seen it, there’s a hole there, a gap to Wilson and what a finish, he’s just kept his balance.

“Lovely ball from Iwobi. He’s probably playing the best football of his career at the moment. But that is just a beautiful pass into the corner.”

Following his performance in the game, Iwobi was named Player of the Match by the Premier League against Brentford.
