Top-Ranked Goalkeeper Nnadozie Shines Again with Second Clean Sheet in WSL!

Following her impressive fourth-place achievement in the Women’s Yashin Trophy, Super Falcons‘ goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has now recorded her second shutout in the Women’s Super League.

On Sunday at Broadfield Stadium, Nnadozie played a pivotal role in Brighton & Hove Albion’s narrow 1-0 triumph over Toni Payne’s Everton side.

Everton began the encounter aggressively, with Yuka Momiki and Katja Snoeijs applying early pressure on Brighton’s backline.

Despite this, Nnadozie remained unshaken, showcasing exceptional calmness and lightning-fast reactions-qualities that contributed to her notable fourth-place finish in the 2025 Women’s Yashin Trophy.

Consistent Excellence from Nnadozie

Since joining the WSL, Nnadozie has made a remarkable impact, having also secured a clean sheet during the season opener in a goalless draw against Aston Villa.

One of her most memorable moments came with a spectacular diving save to deny Rosa Van Gool, a display that underscored why she earned a nomination for this year’s Yashin Trophy.

Brighton took a 1-0 lead into the break after Michelle Agyemang expertly volleyed in a rebound to break the deadlock.

In the latter half, Nnadozie continued to shine, expertly reading the game and making a crucial save with a swift dive to stop Aurora Galli’s close-range shot.

Her commanding displays throughout the year have garnered widespread acclaim both domestically and on the global stage.

Notably, she was honored as the Best Goalkeeper at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations and made history as the first African goalkeeper to be shortlisted for the Yashin Trophy at the Ballon d’Or awards.
