…APC leadership attends Governor’s book unveiling,
…Three major projects inaugurated
At the unveiling of Governor Hope Uzodinma’s book titled “A Decade of Impactful Progressive Governance in Nigeria” in Owerri, Imo State, on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu lauded the governor’s transformative leadership.
President Tinubu highlighted Uzodinma’s commitment to development, particularly praising the commissioning of three landmark projects: the 52-kilometer Owerri-Mbaise-Umuahia highway, the Assumpta Cathedral Twin Flyover, and the Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu International Conference Centre. He also commended the governor for documenting the party’s decade-long achievements through his book.
“Governor Uzodinma’s book is a valuable contribution to Nigeria’s historical record. It reminds us that no nation should lose sight of its journey, and no leader should forget the honor of public service,” the president remarked.
Expressing confidence in Nigeria’s trajectory, President Tinubu noted the significant progress made under APC’s stewardship over the past ten years. “The Nigeria of today is markedly different from that of a decade ago,” he observed.
He recounted how the APC, under the late President Muhammadu Buhari, laid the groundwork for economic stability, a foundation that has continued to strengthen. Tinubu revealed that in the second quarter of 2025, Nigeria’s economy expanded by 4.23%, while inflation dropped to 20.12%, offering tangible relief to citizens.
Urging Nigerians to maintain patience and resilience, the president assured that positive change is underway, citing the nation’s foreign reserves at 42.03%, the highest level since 2019.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio also praised Governor Uzodinma for his infrastructural advancements in Imo State and lauded the governor’s initiative in authoring a book that captures the APC’s accomplishments and his visionary leadership for the state.
During his speech, Governor Uzodinma reflected on Nigeria’s evolution under APC governance from 2015 to 2025, outlining key achievements, obstacles overcome, and lessons gained. He emphasized that the book represents a collective legacy for both the APC and Nigerians at large.
Describing the book as a product of thoughtful introspection, Uzodinma elaborated on the concept of “progressivism” within Nigeria, highlighting themes of community unity, inclusiveness, and dedicated public service.
He expressed gratitude for President Tinubu’s foresight and pivotal role in establishing the APC, applauding the administration’s economic strides, particularly the achievement of six consecutive quarters of trade surpluses, driven largely by growth in non-oil exports.
