She continued, “The Democrats must recognize that their actions have cornered the White House and the president into this difficult situation. If they want to prevent further damage to their voters, reopening the government is the straightforward solution. Passing a clean continuing resolution would resolve this crisis immediately.
We are looking at potentially thousands of furloughs. The Office of Management and Budget, along with the White House team, is actively addressing this unfortunate reality today.
These negotiations and meetings would be unnecessary if Democrats had supported keeping the government operational.”
