Kaduna-In a significant stride against criminal activities, the Kaduna State Police Command has announced the apprehension of a suspected supplier of narcotics to bandits, an individual illegally carrying firearms, and three persons implicated in child trafficking. Additionally, the police recovered stolen livestock and seized illicit drugs valued at several million naira.
DSP Mansir Hassan, the Public Relations Officer for the Command, disclosed in a statement from Kaduna that these successful operations took place between September 22 and September 30, 2025.
On September 29, officers from the Maraban Jos Division detained Franklin Ozo, aged 30, from Danmagaji, Zaria, who was found in possession of over 500 sachets of Exol tablets, with an estimated worth running into millions of naira. Investigations suggest these drugs were intended for distribution among bandit groups in the Kidandan and Giwa areas.
In a separate but related raid on the same day, the Anti-Kidnapping Unit arrested Alhaji Sani, also known as Dan Gude, in Doka Ilu village within Giwa Local Government Area. He was caught with a homemade AK-47 rifle, two live 7.62mm bullets, and a magazine, all seized by the police.
Earlier, on September 22, the police dismantled a child trafficking network following the arrest of Khadija Ibrahim near Narayi, Kaduna, who was found with a child named Abdulmumin. Further inquiries led to the capture of two additional suspects, Daniel Samuel and Danjuma Makoshi, and the rescue of another abducted child, a five-year-old boy named Ibrahim Bilyaminu, who was taken from Gusau in Zamfara State.
DSP Hassan assured that the rescued children are currently safe and under police care, with ongoing investigations aimed at completely eradicating the trafficking ring.
Moreover, on September 30, security forces, collaborating with a reformed bandit and an individual named Bello Lawal, successfully recovered 60 stolen cattle and 25 sheep, which were promptly returned to their legitimate owner.
