Suspected Lakurawa fighters killed in Kebbi

Law enforcement officers in Kebbi State have successfully neutralized three individuals believed to be members of the Lakurawa militant group.

Nafiu Abubakar, the spokesperson for the Kebbi State Police Command, confirmed that the suspects were fatally wounded during an intense firefight with police personnel in the Dandi local government area.

“On Friday, a group of suspected armed bandits launched an attack on Gorun Yamma village,” he stated.

“Promptly acting on credible intelligence, the Divisional Police Officer of Kamba, SP Mohammed Bello Lawal, quickly deployed a combined force of police officers and local vigilantes to confront the attackers.

“The security operatives engaged the assailants in a sustained gun battle, which led to the elimination of three suspects. Several others fled into the nearby forest, sustaining gunshot injuries,” Abubakar added.

“Additionally, a red, unregistered Honda motorcycle, commonly nicknamed ‘Boko Haram’, was seized at the location,” he concluded.
