Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the First Lady, has officially inaugurated a new 100-bed healthcare center in Gombe State, which proudly bears her name.

This newly established institution is known as the Senator Oluremi Tinubu Maternal and Child Specialist Hospital.

During the inauguration ceremony, the First Lady emphasized that maternal and child healthcare remains a cornerstone of President Bola Tinubu‘s Renewed Hope Agenda.

She praised the dedication of health sector stakeholders and called on them to guarantee that every Nigerian child begins life in good health, stressing that no mother should lose her life during childbirth.

In a statement released by her media representative, Busola Kukoyi, the First Lady remarked, “The opening of this hospital signifies more than just a new building; it represents a gateway to life, hope, and a brighter, healthier future for mothers and children alike.”

She further highlighted, “Maternal and child health care is central to the Renewed Hope Agenda championed by His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Our goal is to ensure every Nigerian child enjoys a healthy start, and that maternal deaths during childbirth are eradicated.”

“I am confident that this facility will deliver top-quality healthcare, significantly lower maternal and infant mortality rates, and provide much-needed support to families in Gombe State and neighboring regions.”

The First Lady also expressed gratitude to the Office of Sustainable Development Goals for their instrumental role in constructing the hospital and their ongoing commitment to advancing Nigeria’s SDGs.

“As we dedicate this hospital today, I urge all involved-healthcare workers, community leaders, and citizens-to uphold its mission with dedication, empathy, and integrity,” she added.

In addition to the hospital, Senator Tinubu inaugurated the state-of-the-art New College of Nursing and Midwifery in Gombe, where she engaged warmly with students who expressed their appreciation for her visit.
