Despite the positive result, Arsenal faced a setback when captain Martin Ødegaard had to be substituted in the first half due to injury, marking his third premature exit this season.
The opening goal arrived in the 38th minute as Rice seized the opportunity from a rebound after West Ham’s goalkeeper Alphonse Areola parried Eberechi Eze‘s shot, allowing Rice to tap in the opener.
