Police Arrest 9 Suspected Cattle Rustlers In Jigawa

The Jigawa State Police Command has successfully detained at least nine individuals suspected of cattle theft across two separate locations within the state.

According to a statement released by the State Police spokesperson, SP Shisu Lawal, the arrests were made following actionable intelligence received by the authorities.

The suspects were taken into custody in the Hadejia and Auyo local government areas, where law enforcement officials also seized several items linked to the alleged crimes.

Among the recovered evidence were a dark green Volkswagen Golf Wagon with tinted windows, a Volkswagen bus bearing the registration number UBJ 835 XX, along with livestock including four cows, two goats, and one sheep.

The individuals apprehended have been identified as Buhari Musa, aged 30; Muhammad Abubakar, 45; Abba Ibrahim, 25; Shuaibu Musa, 20; Mohd Abubakar, 45; Sule Isa; Isma’il Abdullahi; Abdullahi Suleman; and Salisu Usman.

SP Lawal confirmed that the suspects will face legal proceedings once the ongoing investigations are finalized, ensuring they are brought to justice.
