German tennis ace Alexander Zverev has ignited debate by alleging that tennis governing bodies are showing favoritism towards emerging talents Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner, particularly in how tournament schedules and officiating decisions are handled.
Following his latest match, Zverev implied that organizers and ATP officials are deliberately easing the path for these young players to thrive.
“It’s clear who the tour is pushing forward,” Zverev remarked. “Alcaraz and Sinner consistently receive the most advantageous match times, prime broadcasting slots, and even benefit from certain umpiring decisions. Competing fairly becomes challenging when it seems the system is tilted in their favor.”

While he refrained from pinpointing particular tournaments, Zverev hinted that recent Masters events have demonstrated a recurring trend of partiality.
ATP officials have yet to issue a formal response, though insiders maintain that player treatment is based strictly on rankings and marketability, ensuring fairness across the board.
Reactions to Zverev’s statements have been mixed within the tennis community-some supporters empathize with his grievances, whereas others believe he is using these claims to mask his own fluctuating performance.
