APC Digital Force Sounds Alarm on Electoral Integrity Ahead of Crucial Anambra Poll

APC digital force raises concern over electoral integrity ahead of Anambra poll

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Digital Force has voiced apprehensions regarding potential threats to the credibility of the upcoming Anambra governorship election slated for November 8, 2025.

In a declaration released from Awka and endorsed by its Director General, Pharm. Ikeagwuonwu Chinedu Klinsmann, the organization highlighted reports indicating possible electoral irregularities and called on relevant authorities to guarantee a transparent and fair election process.

Klinsmann explained that the concerns of the APC Digital Force are based on intelligence gathered from party representatives and independent election observers, which suggest risks of procedural flaws reminiscent of those witnessed during the 2024 local government elections in Anambra State.

“The 2024 local government elections experienced challenges such as poor voter turnout and operational inefficiencies. We fear these issues might resurface unless proactive steps are taken,” the statement emphasized.

The group identified four critical areas requiring attention: adherence to election schedules, efficient logistics coordination, impartial security arrangements, and balanced media coverage.

Klinsmann noted ongoing talks about potential modifications to the campaign calendar, purportedly for security reasons, warning that such changes could undermine equitable participation. He also highlighted concerns about possible delays in the distribution of election materials in certain regions, referring to these as “logistical blackouts.”

The APC Digital Force appealed to security agencies to maintain neutrality and safeguard all candidates and voters without prejudice. Additionally, it urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to enhance supervision over the recruitment of temporary staff and the planning of logistics to prevent operational setbacks.

Moreover, the group called on civil society organizations and election monitors, including Yiaga Africa and the Nigeria Civil Society Situation Room, to implement robust observation mechanisms to uphold transparency during vote counting and result collation.

Klinsmann described the November 8 election as a pivotal event for Anambra State, encouraging citizens to participate peacefully and responsibly in the democratic exercise.

He affirmed that the APC’s governorship candidate, Senator Nicholas Ukachukwu, embodies a vision of progress, inclusivity, and revitalized leadership, urging voters to engage positively in the electoral process.

“The destiny of Anambra depends on united participation. We call on the electorate to exercise their franchise diligently and ensure their votes are effectively counted,” Klinsmann stated.

In conclusion, the APC Digital Force stressed that conducting credible elections is essential for preserving public confidence in democracy and sustaining peace within the state.
