Umar Garba, who served as the Chief Imam of Rafin-Kuka and was the younger sibling of Niger State’s Deputy Governor Yakubu Garba, has passed away at the age of 46.
This information was confirmed in a press release issued by Hajiya Ummulkhatume Abdullahi, the Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, from Minna on Tuesday.
According to Abdullahi, Garba succumbed to a brief illness in the early hours of Tuesday at his residence in Rafin-Kuka, located within Shiroro Local Government Area.
He is survived by his wife, two children, and an elderly mother.
The funeral rites are scheduled to be held at the Kuta Central Mosque in Shiroro Local Government Area.
The statement concluded with prayers asking Allah to forgive the departed soul and grant him everlasting peace in Jannah.
