Lagos Council Launches Exciting Registration Drive for CCT Beneficiaries!

Lagos council begins registration of beneficiaries for CCT

The Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area in Lagos State has officially launched the registration process for residents to participate in the Renewed Hope Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) programme. The registration commenced with Ward B as the initial phase of this community-wide initiative.

Chairman of the council, Mr. Sesan Olowa, announced the development during a press briefing held at the council secretariat in Ibeju on Tuesday.

The registration period is scheduled to run from October 7 through October 14, providing residents ample opportunity to enroll.

Mr. Olowa emphasized that this programme is a key component of President Bola Tinubu‘s Renewed Hope Agenda, which focuses on poverty reduction and fostering social inclusion across the state.

The scheme aims to deliver targeted monetary support to vulnerable families within the local government, ensuring those most in need receive assistance.

Registration will be conducted at designated centers strategically located in every ward throughout the council area to maximize accessibility.

Residents are encouraged to attend the registration center assigned to their ward on the specified date to complete the process.

Applicants must provide essential personal and household details, including full names and dates of birth.

Additional information required includes gender, marital status, residential address, and contact phone numbers. Valid identification such as a Voter’s Card, Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASRRA) card, National Identification Number (NIN), or Bank Verification Number (BVN) is compulsory.

Furthermore, data on family size, type of housing, occupation, income bracket, health conditions, and any disabilities will be collected to create a thorough profile of each beneficiary.

Mr. Olowa assured that the registration process is completely free of charge and urged residents to provide truthful and accurate information to maintain the integrity and transparency of the data collection.

This CCT programme is part of the Federal Government’s expansive National Social Investment Programme (NSIP), designed to mitigate the effects of economic reforms and alleviate poverty among low-income populations.

The council chairman reiterated his administration’s dedication to ensuring that eligible residents are successfully enrolled and benefit from the scheme.

He confirmed that all necessary measures and systems have been established to facilitate a smooth registration and verification process across all wards.

According to Mr. Olowa, the initiative is expected to enhance the quality of life for residents, particularly focusing on women, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities by offering financial support and promoting economic empowerment.

He called on all residents to actively engage in the registration exercise, reminding them to attend on their ward’s designated day and bring valid documentation to ensure their inclusion in the programme.
