On Tuesday, the House of Representatives officially inducted three newly elected legislators.
During the plenary session held in Abuja, Speaker Abbas Tajudeen formally presented the new members to the legislative body.
All three representatives hail from the All Progressives Congress (APC). They include Omosede Igbinedion representing Edo State, Felix Bagudu from Kaduna State, and Murktar Rabiu of Jigawa State. The Clerk of the House administered their oaths under the supervision of the Speaker.
In August, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Igbinedion the winner of the by-election for the Ovia Federal Constituency in Edo State.
Omosede Igbinedion clinched the seat with a total of 77,053 votes, filling the vacancy created in September 2024 when Dennis Idahosa was appointed deputy governor of Edo State.
Felix Bagudu took over the Chikun-Kajuru Federal Constituency seat in Kaduna State, previously held by the late Ekene Adams of the Labour Party, after securing 34,580 votes in the by-election.
Murktar Rabiu won the by-election for the Garki/Babura Federal Constituency in Jigawa State, garnering 38,449 votes to claim the position.
