KADUNA – Leaders from Koro District and Kagarko Local Government Area in Kaduna State have firmly dismissed recent social media rumors that exaggerate conflicts between farmers and herders in their communities, describing such stories as misleading and politically motivated.

Community elders, traditional rulers, and local authorities clarified that the reported incident was a minor disagreement quickly resolved through established community dialogue platforms, showcasing the success of Governor Uba Sani’s inclusive peacebuilding framework at the grassroots level.

Barrister Magaji H. Danjuma, Deputy Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly and a native son of the area, lamented the politicization of what was essentially a personal dispute.

“It is crucial to emphasize that the occurrence in Koro was not a communal clash but a brief misunderstanding between two individuals, which was swiftly settled through the peace mechanisms instituted under the Governor’s initiative,” he stated.

Honorable Muhuyideen A. Umar, Chairman of Kagarko Local Government Council, reiterated the longstanding peaceful coexistence among farmers, herders, and residents, crediting this stability to Governor Uba Sani’s unwavering dedication to dialogue facilitation, community security enhancement, and peacebuilding.

“Our community remains peaceful. The prompt intervention by traditional leaders, security agencies, and local stakeholders prevented any escalation. Those spreading falsehoods lack genuine concern for our community’s welfare,” he affirmed.

Representatives from Koro and Danta communities expressed their strong support for the state’s peace agenda, commending the Kaduna Peace Model introduced by Governor Uba Sani. This model emphasizes local participation, early conflict detection, and effective mediation councils, which have substantially reduced communal tensions.

They underscored that Koro and Kagarko exemplify peaceful coexistence, where farmers, herders, women, and youth collaborate harmoniously in everyday life.

“We reject attempts by external forces or political adversaries to exploit misinformation to create divisions among us. The peace we enjoy today is the result of deliberate leadership from both the state government and our community institutions,” declared the Ere Koro.

Community leaders called on residents to disregard misleading social media reports and continue supporting the cooperative efforts between government and local communities that have positioned Kagarko as one of the most stable and peaceful local governments in Southern Kaduna.
