“He reached out to me unexpectedly after we first met on the show. He said, ‘Omawumi, this is Cobhams Asuquo-he likes to add a funky twist to his name. I have a track I want you to record. It might not seem significant right now, but let’s give it a shot,'” Omawumi shared.
She embraced the opportunity, which surprisingly led to further breakthroughs. Omawumi also highlighted the invaluable lessons she gained from collaborating with Cobhams, emphasizing his influence on her artistic growth.
“After recording the song, it was selected by an agency, and I ended up becoming their brand ambassador for two years. Working with Cobhams refined my understanding of performance nuances, including vocal delivery and stage presence,” she explained.
