Opeyemi Ayanwale, popularly known as Imisi, has clinched the title of Big Brother Naija Season 10 champion. At just 23 years old, Imisi has expressed a strong desire to collaborate with Nollywood‘s celebrated actress and director, Funke Akindele, whom she deeply admires as both a mentor and inspiration.
Speaking shortly after receiving her grand prize in Lagos-which included a cash reward of N150 million and a brand-new car-Imisi reflected on how her stint inside the Big Brother house sharpened her acting skills and fueled her passion for the entertainment industry.
“During my time on the show, many recognized my acting capabilities, including my fellow housemates. This experience has motivated me to pursue more roles,” she shared.
Looking forward, Imisi revealed her aspirations to work closely with Funke Akindele, describing her as a pivotal figure in her career journey. She also mentioned other Nollywood talents like Bimbo Ademoye and Bolaji Ogunmola as key sources of encouragement and artistic influence.
Describing her victory as an emotional milestone, Imisi admitted she is still absorbing the overwhelming love and support from fans across the country.
When asked about the possibility that regional pride might have influenced her win, she acknowledged, “It’s possible. The Yoruba community is known for standing firmly behind their own, which may have played a part.”
However, she emphasized that her authenticity and openness were the true factors that connected with viewers. “I didn’t strategize to win; I simply remained genuine and true to myself,” she explained.
Reflecting on her journey, Imisi expressed deep gratitude to her Celestial Church community for their steadfast prayers and encouragement. She is committed to using her newfound platform to further her career in the entertainment world. “Fame is a new chapter for me. I intend to seek mentorship, keep learning, and grow intentionally.
