In Bauchi State, a Police Constable named Ukasha Muhammed tragically lost his life after being shot by members of the military.
Ahmed Wakil, the official spokesperson for the Bauchi State Police Command, confirmed the incident in a statement issued on Saturday.
The statement revealed that Private Usman Mubarak (23NA/84/5346), a soldier attached to the Special Task Force (STF) Operation Safe Haven stationed in Jos, Plateau State, has been detained by the police in connection with the shooting.
The fatal incident occurred late Friday evening within the Bauchi metropolis.

According to the official account: “On October 10, 2025, at approximately 10:35 PM, the Bauchi State Police Command received an emergency report about a violent altercation involving a patrol team led by Inspector Hussaini Samaila during a routine security check in the Bayan Gari area of Bauchi.
“During the patrol, Constable Ukasha Muhammed (F/No 533164) was assaulted by two individuals near Padimo Hotel. The patrol team quickly responded, capturing one attacker while the other escaped.”
