At Abuja’s Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, a heated confrontation between two adult sisters on Sunday escalated to a distressing level when one of them lost consciousness.

Michael Achimugu, the official spokesperson for the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), provided an account of the incident via his X (formerly Twitter) handle.

According to Achimugu, “Today at Abuja airport, an unusual situation occurred involving two sisters who were booked to travel with NG EAGLE but missed their departure due to arriving late.”

The missed flight triggered frustration, leading one sister to blame the other, which quickly sparked a verbal dispute.

The disagreement intensified and soon turned into a physical altercation within the airport terminal.

“Their scuffle caused their luggage and personal items to scatter across the floor. Airport security stepped in and escorted them to a holding room, where the fight unfortunately continued until one sister fainted,” Achimugu detailed.

Emergency responders were summoned to assist the unconscious woman; however, her sister refused medical help, attributing the incident to spiritual causes rather than physical ones.

Nonetheless, the woman who fainted was taken to the FAAN clinic for thorough medical assessment and care.

“She is now receiving treatment at the FAAN medical facility, and we wish her a speedy recovery. Incidents like this are regrettable and should be prevented,” Achimugu concluded.
