It seems like only yesterday, yet nearly a year has passed since the serene departure of Modupe Temitope Dada, beloved wife of Mike Dada, the President and Executive Producer of the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA).
On Sunday, October 19, 2025, family, friends, and admirers will unite to mark the first anniversary of her passing. The memorial service is scheduled to be held at Grace Assembly Church, situated at Yard 158, Kudirat Abiola Way, Oregun-Ikeja, Lagos, from 12 noon until 1 p.m. This solemn gathering will provide a moment for worship, reflection, and appreciation, celebrating a life defined by humility, kindness, and quiet strength.
To those fortunate enough to have known her, Modupe was much more than a loving wife and mother. She was a beacon of warmth and generosity-a gentle spirit whose presence left an indelible mark on everyone she met.
Her husband, Mike Dada, who also serves as Managing Director at PRM Africa Marketing and Communications, has extended a heartfelt invitation to close friends and associates, describing the past year as a period of profound reflection and deep gratitude.
“It has been one year since my dear wife, Modupe, was called home. We warmly invite you to join us in worship, remembrance, and celebration of her extraordinary life,” he shared, expressing sincere appreciation for the overwhelming love and support his family has received throughout this time.
The service, led by Reverend Femi Paul, will not only honor her memory but also emphasize the enduring influence of her faith, compassion, and friendship-qualities that continue to inspire all who were privileged to know her.
Born on May 5, 1976, to the late Adebisi Samuel and Moronkeji Veronica Baruwa, Modupe radiated brilliance from a young age. Friends remember her as a source of joy, capable of lifting spirits even during the most challenging times, with a genuine empathy that made others feel truly seen and valued.
In her professional journey, she was a distinguished banker, respected across various financial institutions in Nigeria. Her career reflected her intelligence, humility, and steadfast dedication to excellence, achieved through hard work and integrity.
Until her passing on October 19, 2024, at the age of 48, Modupe’s commitment and professionalism earned her numerous promotions and the admiration of colleagues and leaders alike. Her achievements were a testament not only to her expertise but also to her character-a rare blend of determination and grace.
Beyond her professional life, Modupe was a devoted wife to Mike Dada, a caring mother, and a loving sister. Those close to her often admired her exceptional ability to balance the demands of career and family while uplifting those around her. Her compassion was both heartfelt and practical; she listened with care, encouraged with honesty, and provided unwavering support with quiet resilience.
As family and friends gather this Sunday to celebrate her life, emotions will intertwine sorrow with gratitude-mourning a loss still deeply felt, yet thankful for the privilege of having shared time with such an extraordinary woman.
Though Modupe Dada (née Baruwa) has left this world, her legacy of love, faith, and kindness lives on, continuing to inspire and comfort all whose lives she touched.
