Between October 9 and 18, 2025, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command successfully detained multiple individuals connected to armed robbery, drug trafficking, and vehicle theft through a series of strategic, intelligence-driven operations conducted throughout Abuja.
These coordinated efforts involved the Command’s elite Scorpion Squad working alongside officers from the Kubwa, Life Camp, and Mabushi Divisions, leading to numerous arrests and the seizure of stolen cars, weapons, and illegal drugs.
Among those taken into custody were Manaseh Emmanuel, aged 36; Dogora Ibrahim, 21; and Ibrahim Idamusa, 40. They have been identified as key members of a dangerous armed robbery group headed by Ibrahim Yakubu, also known as “Ycome,” who is currently detained at Kuje Correctional Centre.
In a separate crackdown, the Life Camp Division apprehended Umar Abubakar, Iliyasu Ibrahim, Usman Ibrahim, and Alkasim Abubakar, all suspected of participating in theft and robbery activities.
Further investigations revealed that these individuals are part of a ten-person armed robbery ring responsible for a string of violent crimes across the Kubwa, Life Camp, and Mpape neighborhoods.
Meanwhile, Mabushi Division officers arrested Bello Mohammed Tambuwal for the theft of a 2019 Toyota Corolla. Additionally, Paul Onogwu was caught carrying fifteen bags of dried leaves believed to be Cannabis Sativa.
The police recovered various items during these operations, including a cutlass, a sword, a jackknife, a Toyota Land Cruiser reported stolen during a robbery, a black 2019 Toyota Corolla with chassis number JTNK4RBE1K3054902, a Toyota Camry bearing registration KRD 391 JF, and the suspected Cannabis Sativa bags.
Commissioner of Police Dantawaye Miller praised the officers involved for their dedication and success, encouraging all Divisional Police Officers within the FCT to maintain the momentum and intensify efforts against criminal activities.
He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to enhancing security in Abuja by dismantling criminal networks and eliminating threats to public safety.
“Our resolve is unwavering-we will persistently target and dismantle criminal operations until the Federal Capital Territory is free from crime and insecurity,” Miller emphasized.
The Commissioner also called on residents to stay alert and promptly report any suspicious behavior or individuals to the police via emergency hotlines 08061581938, 08032003913, or the Complaint Response Unit (CRU) at 08107314192.
